Press Conference with the Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein

On 17 September, 2020 the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Dr. Fuad Hussein held a press conference at the Brussels Press Club. The press conference gave an overview of the Iraqi visit to the EU, NATO and European Member States (Germany, Belgium and France).  The Minister outlined his conversations and the topics that were on the agenda for Iraq in order to further cooperation with European Member States and institutions.

BIC Reacts to the EU's MFF and coronavirus recovery fund deal

After four days of intense negotiations, EU leaders forged a deal on the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and a recovery package. The latter, to be composed of €390 billion in grants and €360 billion in loans, will be attached to the new €1.074 trillion seven-year budget, on which heads of state and government agreed unanimously. The total financial package was of €1.82 trillion, including  €98.4 bn to cover the EU’s external priorities.

On 16 July 2020, the Brussels International Center held an online event on new approaches to security and governance in the Sahel.  In partnership with the Centro Studi Internazionali (Ce.S.I), the event brought together a diverse panel of international and local experts to discuss solutions to persistent challenges in the Sahelian region, focusing especially on the emergency situations in Mali and Niger.

The fourth Brussels Conference, hosted by the European Union in partnership with the United Nations on Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region, convened from 22 to 30 June 2020 finishing with a high-level Ministerial Conference in which representatives from UN Member States, as well as international organizations and civil society, discussed the need for political solutions in the Syrian conflict.

From 12 to 14 May 2020, the Brussels International Center collaborated with Friends of Europe in a three-day virtual global brainstorm on international security challenges, hosted by IBM and coordinated by The Partnership for Peace Consortium.

Sinds het uitbreken van het nieuwe Coronavirus in de stad Wuhan in  China ,  eind december 2019 ; zijn de gesprekken en debatten over het coronavirus wereldwijd en ook hier bij ons in België ,  niet meer weg te denken . Het gaat  zelfs zover ,  dat het impact ( Sociaal-economisch , Fysisch –Psychisch en ja zelfs Menselijk en Religieus ) overweldigend is.
