BIC Reacts as Protests Spread over Libya
The BIC notes with concern the level of public unrest in Libya, with recent protests in Tripoli, Benghazi, Misrata and others, including the destruction of part of the eastern-House of Representatives parliament in Tobruk. While noting the severe economic and practical challenges facing ordinary Libyan citizens, it is imperative that the various factional actors work to listen to the grievances of citizens and deliver governance.

BIC Reacts to the Massacres in Oromia Region, Ethiopia
The BIC is concerned following recent reports of massacres in Oromia region, Ethiopia, including particularly concerning claims that such attacks were ethnically-motivated towards the Amhara people. Reports of up to 320 casualties are deeply concerning, especially as Ethiopia grapples with widespread tensions that have coalesced into violence across the country, notably in Tigray.
