Formerly Strategic Advisor to Sudan's Minister of Health, Dr. Omar El-Nageib, in the Transitional Government, Asil has also served as Advisor for Advocacy at Doctors Without Borders/MSF's headquarters in Brussels. Asil built her career spending a decade in Africa and Middle East in strategic advisory and operational management roles in the non-profit and private sectors. She continued to take up field positions such as several months in 2019 as a field coordinator at MSF's sexual and gender based violence project in a mining town in South Africa, and in the aid sector in 2009 in Yemen. In 2021, Asil joined the Oxford initiative for global ethics executive board in the fields of health, ethics, culture and law.
