BIC Reacts to the Attempted Assassination of the Sudanese Prime Minister:
BIC is concerned to hear the news that there was an assassination attempt on Sudanese Prime Minister Adballa Hamdok in Khartoum earlier today.
Ben Lowings, BIC's Political Analyst for North Africa, said: "The Sudanese transitional process to a truly civilian-led government is a work in process, and must be protected to ensure that the popular protest-movement results in substantive political change. As a symbol of this new process, the attack on Mr. Hamdok is a worrying development."
