The BIC is aware of the ongoing situation in Mali and has taken notice of President Keïta's resignation. We urge all parties to restrain avoid all violence, and focus on ensuring stability and the implementation of a plan towards an accountable democratic process.
Therefore, we are hopeful to hear that the National Committee for the Salvation of People (CNSP) condemns vengeful and violent intentions and is keen on the stability of the country, the organization of general elections within a reasonable time-frame to allow Mali to equip itself with strong institutions, and the restoration of trust between the government and its citizens.
