The BIC welcomes the signing of a peace deal between the Sudanese Government and the Sudan Revolutionary Front rebel group coalition.
The BIC's Political Analyst Ben Lowings said:
"This agreement is a historic milestone in the Sudanese transition process, and the government's agenda to end some of Sudan's ongoing civil conflicts. Efforts should now be made to ensure that the stated terms, such as an effective DDR (disarmament, demobilization and reintegration) process for rebel fighters, are implemented in a suitable manner."
